Abstract

Apart from China, Vietnam is currently the most rapidly developing country in the international socialist camps and has made remarkable achievements in reform and opening up. The impact of China's economic, political, and cultural systems on Vietnam has been explored at home and abroad. However, there needs to be more discussion of the impact of Vietnam's reform and opening up on China. As the differences in reform between China and Vietnam are increasing annually, the geopolitical pressure that Vietnam's reform will bring to China must be taken seriously. China should choose targeted response strategies based on a comprehensive and objective assessment of the risks it may bring. While remaining vigilant about Vietnam's westernization tendency and its cooperation with anti-China alliances such as the US, we should find ways to deepen our all-around cooperation with Vietnam and avoid pushing it into the anti-China alliance. Most of all, China should insist on comprehensively further reform and high-standard opening-up, do the right thing, and Enhance the overall strength and international competitiveness of our system. We should be vigilant against the West's new type of "peaceful evolution" or "color revolution" towards Vietnam, take an objective and rational view of Vietnam's reforms, and grasp the keynote of cooperation with Vietnam.
