[Policy Report 80] Report on the Results of the Seminar "Baichuan Forum - Changes and Assessments in China's External Environment 2021"

Abstract

On September 11-12, 2021, the seminar "Baichuan Forum - Changes and Assessments in China's External Environment 2021" was held in Qianhai, Shenzhen. The symposium was organized by the Institute of Advanced Studies on Global and Contemporary China and the Qianhai Institute of International Affairs of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). Leading scholars, former diplomats, former officials of international organizations and experts in related fields from all over China focused on the following eight topics: "International Order in Disorder", "Great Power Relations in Flux", "China and East Asia", "China and South Asia and the Middle East", "China and Global Governance", "Geopolitics", "National Security and Crisis Management", "Security and Crisis Management" and "Law and Rules" , discussing and assessing the profound changes in the current international environment, with the aim of providing theoretical and practical bases for policymakers to formulate strategies and policies through rational discussions.
