Abstract

After winning the 9th election, the conservative faction in South Korea will return to power after May and South Korea will inevitably strengthen its military and intelligence cooperation with the US and Japan, while North Korea may also resume nuclear tests or intercontinental ballistic missile test launches, with the situation on the Korean Peninsula highly likely to fall into a vicious cycle again. In this regard, China should not only remain on high alert, but also learn from past lessons and engage in balanced and preventive diplomacy between the two Koreas to prevent South Korea from infringing on China's interests in the process of moving towards the US.
