Abstract

The results of the second round of the French election were just released on the evening of April 24 (GMT +1). Not surprisingly, incumbent President Macron was re-elected with 58.55% of the vote over Marine Le Pen (41.45%), the candidate of the far-right party of "Union Nationale". Although the election has been completed, before the second round of results, many poll results are not very optimistic, and comments from the public and the international community are also apprehensive about the possible black swan of the election - the victory of the far-right candidate Le Pen. Though the election results were "expected" and political turmoil in Europe and the United States was avoided, the election revealed many crises behind the scenes.
