Abstract

With the election of 64-year-old Marcos Jr., the Philippines is expected to maintain Duterte's diplomatic line of balanced diplomacy between China and the United States. China should expand economic and trade cooperation with the Philippines, actively manage differences on the South China Sea issue and prevent further escalation of the Philippine-US military alliance.
