Abstract

With the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Africa cooperation, Africa has become a significant destination where China’s overseas interests distribute. The worsened situations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Horn of Africa, Sahel, and the Gulf of Guinea have threatened China’s interests in these regions. How to protect overseas interests while standing with the non-interference doctrine has been a new challenge for China. Beijing should establish integrated deployment that is compatible with its interests in Africa. It should also differentiate issues in China-Africa development cooperation and those about Africa’s endogenous development.
